In Trigger Point Therapy, the therapist locates and de-activates "Trigger Points", which are often tender areas in the body.
The major goals of treatment include, reduction in the spasm, induction of new blood flow, and there by enhance oxygen supply to the effected area. The muscles are gently stretched to complete the relaxation process.
This unit is compulsory for all Diploma of Remedial Massage students, and is strongly recommended for those students interested in applying massage in their practice. |
