The Institute is proud to offer Ayurveda as an elective for our students and to other interested people.
Ayurveda is one of the ancient forms of Indian medicine, used in India and rapidly getting more popular around the western world. A competency package for Ayurveda has now been approved by the Australian National Training Board and with such wide acceptance in Australia, the Australian Institute of Holistic Medicine is proud to be the first institution to offer an Advanced Diploma course in Ayurveda with a qualified Ayurvedic physician from India.
This unit is offered as an elective but it is a core unit required unit for the successful completion of the Advanced Diploma of Ayurveda
and the Certificate IV in
Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultation. There will be an assessment at the completion of this unit.
By the end of this elective, you will be able to describe the philosophy of Ayurveda, identify Ayurvedic constitutions, recognise the concept of Tridoshas, recognise the lifestyle recommended by Ayurvedic principles and dietary requirements to maintain great health, and discuss the Ayurvedic detoxification (Panchakarma) and some common ailments and their management with Ayurvedic treatment. |
